Serving Pennsylvania
Third-generation farrier work done right — on time, on your schedule, and with the care every horse deserves. Serving equestrians across Pennsylvania.
I'm Dale Harmon, and I've been shoeing horses across Pennsylvania for over two decades. I grew up on a farm outside of Carlisle, started apprenticing at 16, and haven't stopped since.
I run a one-man operation on purpose. When you call Ironshod, you get me — not a rotating crew. I know my clients' horses by name, and I show up when I say I will.
No surprises on the bill. Pricing is clear up front and based on what your horse actually needs.
Barefoot trim with proper balance assessment. Best for horses not requiring shoes or between shoeing cycles.
Hand-forged and fitted to each individual hoof. The gold standard for fit and long-term hoof health.
Pre-made shoes shaped and fitted cold. Solid option for horses with straightforward hoof conformation.
Therapeutic shoeing for horses with laminitis, navicular, club feet, or other conditions requiring special attention.
Pulling existing shoes, trimming, and resetting for horses that are due but shoes are still in good shape.
Lost shoe or urgent hoof issue? Call or text anytime. I make room for emergencies when I can.
My existing clients come first — always. That means I don't take on new horses until I know I can serve them the way they deserve. If you're looking for a farrier who shows up, does good work, and communicates, fill out the form and I'll be in touch when I have an opening.
Already a client? Call or text me directly at (717) 555-0182 to schedule your next visit.
I'll reach out personally when I have an opening that's a good fit. Thanks for your patience — good farrier work is worth the wait.
Dale has been shoeing my horses for eight years. He never misses an appointment and always texts if he's running behind. That alone puts him head and shoulders above anyone I've worked with.
My mare has navicular and Dale's corrective work has made a world of difference. He actually took the time to explain what he was doing and why. You can tell this is more than a job to him.
Lost a shoe the night before a show. Dale showed up at 6am without complaint and had all four done by 7:30. I don't know what I would've done without him. Worth every penny.
